On behalf of our pupils,staff and Board of Management , I would like to welcome you to our school website. Drumeela NS, located on the Leitrim-Cavan borders a co-educational Catholic School with a current enrolment of 25 wonderful pupils.
Drumeela NS is a school where every person is a valued member of a happy, vibrant learning community. In Drumeela NS, we aim to provide a well structured, caring and positive learning environment with plenty of fun and adventure along the way!
Our website will highlight the many events and activities taking place in our school . With a permanent staff of three energetic, creative and dedicated teachers and a secretary and caretaker, who have the school community spirit at the heart of all they do, the holistic development of our talented and committed pupils is always fostered.
Drumeela NS has a very supportive parent body and our school prides itself on the team element of pupils, parents, staff and Board of Management working together.

This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to purchase iPads, which were distributed to children at risk of missing out on their education due to lack of digital access at home. By ensuring that every child in the school had access to an iPad if they did not already have one, we were able to maintain consistent engagement with teaching and learning. This enabled all students to connect with their teachers daily via platforms such as Zoom or Seesaw, ensuring continuity of education during periods of remote learning.

The staff and students of Drumeela NS are remembering our past pupil, Dessie O’Kelly, this month as we mark his anniversary. Dessie is fondly remembered by us all for his fun and witty nature.
We also want to thank Teresa, Gene and Clara who made a very generous donation to our Parents Association and Scallywags Preschool. Dessie’s name and memory will live on through the opportunities and benefits this funding will provide to our school and preschool community. We are so grateful for this and are in awe of your strength and bravery during this difficult year. 
The Junior Room have been learning all about The Vets and how to look after animals. Thank you very much to Vera, Alec’s Mammy, who is a veterinary nurse. Vera and David brought in some animals to our school to teach us how to care for them.
The Junior Room have been learning about recycling, upcycling and taking care of the environment. They took a trip to The Clutterbug Shop in Arva to get a better understanding of how a thrift shop works.
